中文XP操作系统中CMD-DOS中文显示不正常及中文输入法不可用的问题解决

以前CMD-DOS中都能正常显示正文，而且用Ctrl+Space能够轻松地切换中英文输入法。但是，最近不知何故，CMD-DOS中的中文全部显示为了问号“？”。折腾了一阵子，发现可以通过如下方式解决：

进入CMD-DOS后，键入CHCP 936来将代码页设为简体中文，或者键入CHCP 950将代码页设为繁体中文。此时发现中文显示变得正常，Ctrl+Space也可以轻松切换输入法了。

但是这样做以后只能对当前的CMD-DOS窗口有效。当前窗口关闭后再重启一个新的CMD-DOS窗口则中文显示和输入法切换还是没有解决。这时，我们需要保存一下当前的设置：鼠标右键单击CMD-DOS窗口上方的标题栏，并选择属性。

可以看见在“选项”选项卡下的“当前代码页”已经变成了之前所设置的代码项。

然后，点“确定”。在接下来弹出的对话框上要勾选“保存属性，供以后具有相同标题的窗口使用”。

再点“确定”以后，即大功告成。

如何在中国银行兑现ETS的返款支票

我取消过两次ETS的GRE考试，ETS会返还一部分报名费，具体金额可能和你取消的早晚有点关系（不确定，因为我两次收到的返款数目不一样）。在所取消的考试的日期（不是受理退考申请日期）之后一周内，ETS会寄出refund check到你报名时的注册地址。信件为平信，正常寄达时间应该在一周以内，如果地址有误或者邮寄失误则无限延期。如果2个月还没有收到或者地址变更，可以再写email问ETS重新寄。

收到的信应该是个蓝色的信封, 拆开信封, 就会发现支票跟这个信封是连在一起的，里面就是支票。按照说明把支票周围没用的封条撕去。支票上面有两个数字比较重要，一个是check date，就是ETS开check的日期，90日内有效，如果过期才收到或者收到之后一直忘了去领，那么参考上面没有收到的解决办法让ETS重新寄；另外一个数字是date上面的checknumber，在银行填表时需要用到。支票上写的收款人地址如果和你兑现时所住的地址不同也没有关系，只要支票确实是开给你本人的就行。

带上身份证，拿着check，身份证和中国银行借记卡（或者存折）（注意，好像一定得有中国银行的账户才行，没有的话需要开一个户）。去当地的中国银行。我去了北京中国人民大学西门紫金庄园下面的那家分行，办理的业务叫做托收，属于公司业务，办理时间为周一至周五。

柜台人员会让你填一张托收委托书。付款地-美国，票据种类-光票，票据号码就是上面说到的Check Number，填上你兑现时的地址，还有支票的金额（美元）。注意留上正确的电话号码。身份证验明正身之后，缴60元人民币的手续费(50元托收费+10元邮费)，对方会给你一张回执。收好回执就可以走了。

大约在45天之后可以去网上银行查看钱到了没有，期间如果顺利兑现，ETS会给你一封email说你的支票在某某日期已经兑现。如果45天后既没有收到这封email也没有收到钱，就需要带上回执和身份证去银行询问原因了。

迅雷看看绿屏有声音无图像的问题

这个问题需要设置一下就能正常使用迅雷看看了。在桌面点鼠标右键，然后点属性，再点设置，里面有个高级，点进去后切换到疑难解答，里面有个“硬件加速”选项，把这个往左拉一些，我一般拉到左数第二个，点确定后再刷新迅雷看看，这时就完全没问题了。但是有时候玩游戏玩不了还是需要调回来的。

How to Hide Files in Mac OS X

You may need to hide some confidential files in your Mac just for private use. Here are some methods I have collected from the Internet on how to hide files in Mac OSX. I post them out in case they might help.

1. Using third-part software like "apimac secret folder" or "onlyx" to hide a file or file folder.
2. Files whose names start with a dot "." are hidden by default. For example, the folder named "refox" will be hidden if you change its name to ".refox". (This seems not working any more in Leopard as it doesn’t allow to manually change a file name into one starting with a dot.)
   
   You can use the command "mv .refox refox" under the current directory to make the hidden folder ".refox" visible, while the command "ls -a" will list all of files in that directory by force, including hidden ones.
   
   Or, you can type "defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE" in your Terminal to
   set the variable "AppleShowAllFiles" of "com.apple.finder.plist" in "Preferences" to "TRUE" and the second command "killall Finder" will restart the Finder and refresh the content. That is how you can show the hidden files in your Mac system.
   
   If you don't want to use any command listed above, you can install XCode Tools, then navigate to "com.apple.finder.plist" in your "Preferences" folder. Double-click this file will launch it using "Property List Editor" in Xcode Tools by default. Locating to the "AppleShowAllFiles" item and setting the value to "TRUE" will achieve the same effect. If there is no "AppleShowAllFiles" item there, you can also add this item under "Root". After this, you can use the "force quit" in
   Apple menu to re-launch the Finder and check the results.
   
   If you want to hide those shown les, you need to change the value of "AppleShowAllFiles" back to FALSE and re-start the Finder.
3. (Recommended) Change the extension of the file you want to hide into "app" to pretend an application; also change the icon of the file (can be an icon of any application); Right-click the icon of the app file and choose "show package content" to open the folder.

Images Can Finally be Uploaded through ScribeFire

ScribeFire is a great Firefox add-on which allows you to edit your post off-line and post it to your blog remotely. Although it is not very long since I started using it, I find that I have already been attracted and sometimes been addicted to it. The very simple and ready-to-use operation panel and various helpful plug-ins cannot make my blog writing more convenient and pleasant. Besides, it is totally free!

The problem I encountered recently is that it works perfect with my Mac mini and Windows XP systems, but when I began to introduce it to my Mac Book running Mac OS 10.5, I always got a prompting error while uploading a local picture through API mode, saying “Error: could not acquire an authentication token”. I then checked the versions of the installed Firefox and ScribeFire. They are both up to date and there are no available updates for me to install. I also googled the keywords and none of the proposed methods seem to work…

Today I suddenly realize that in terms of the issue, the only difference between my Mac Book and Mac mini is the installation time of Firefox. On the Mac mini, the Firefox was installed a long time ago, and just did some upgrades recently, while Firefox was a newly-added browser in my Mac Book. I then uninstalled all the add-ons and Firefox in my Mac Book and deleted all the profile information (~/Library/Application Support/Firefox & Mozilla). After that, I re-installed the latest Firefox and ScribeFire directly and found the problem was surprisingly resoled! I know this sounds ridiculous and unbelievable, but it actually works!

At the time of this post, ScribeFire has its 3.3.1 version released. I guess this issue might be fixed in the new version. But I haven’t tested it yet.

The lesson I learned from this process is that sometimes the simplest way may be the most effective. Why not give a try if the process does not cost you too much?

Filezilla在Mac OS下中文字符集乱码的解决办法

在Mac OS X下装Filezilla，连到实验室的FTP服务器，结果服务器上的中文名的文件和目录都看不到。后来想Filezilla应该是支持字符集转换的，所以在站点管理器(site manager)->字符集选项卡(charset)中，选择“使用自定义字符集(use custom charset)”，在文本框(encoding)内填写“GBK”。断开服务器重新连接，发现看不见的中文文件和目录都出现了，问题顺利解决。

CME-UF70连接计算机发声的简易操作方法

CME-UF70是一款非常强大实用的MIDI键盘。

因为本身不具备声源的产生机制，CME-UF70键盘（以下简称“MIDI键盘”）的其中一种操作方法是通过连接电脑后，让电脑进行声音的合成而进行发声。其操作方法如下：

1. 将MIDI键盘的电源连接线接好，并打开开关。
2. 准备一台装有Cakewalk的电脑，连接好音箱或是耳麦，MIDI键盘最后的发声将通过音箱或是耳麦传出。
3. 将MIDI键盘自带的“WIDI Wireless USB”插入电脑上，确保指示灯亮。必要的话电脑会自动搜索安装需要的驱动。
4. 打开电脑上的Cakewalk，选择好MIDI的输入输出端口。MIDI输入选择“USB Audio Device”，输出则选择“Microsoft GS 波表软件合成器”，点“确定”。如下图所示：
   

   
   

   如果没有出现“MIDI端口”的选择对话框的话，可以在Cakewalk顶上菜单栏中间的“选项->MIDI设备 ”中找到。
   
5. 这时，去MIDI键盘上尽情地弹奏吧，你应该可以通过音箱或耳麦听到MIDI键盘的声音了。

Using iPod to Play Music Together

It often takes years even decades for ordinary people to learn and master some real instruments, like piano or violin. A Korean drama called "蓝色生死恋" or Autumn in My Heart in English became a hit around Asia at the beginning of 2000s. As the director once said, "Music is the soul of this drama." It is believed that the fascinating maple woods, golden leaves of the phoenix trees and the blue ocean, with the background music performed by Richard Clayderman --- "Love is Blue", turn out to be a perfect match. 双栏文档中生成通栏表格的位置问题

在LaTeX默认的双栏（twocolumn）文档中，用\begin{table*}...\end{table*}浮动环境生成的通栏表格经常不能按照自己的意愿摆放到想要的位置，比如它们经常不管所设定的”htbp!”参数而跑到另外一个空页上。如果需要跨栏表格更好地遵守自己的意愿，可以尝试使用multicol宏包（注意区分表格中跨栏单元格的\multicolumn命令）来替代\documentclass中的twocolumn选项。例如下图的一些命令，

会放置一个跨栏表格在当前页面的底部。

使用multicol宏包的一个好处它会帮你将最后一页的两栏文档进行对齐，不会出现一边长一点而另外一边短的问题。而使用twocolumn选项则需要其他的命令。

另外需要注意的一点是，用上述方法实现时可能会在表格和正文间留下额外的空间，这可以通过一些诸如vspace之类的命令再进行细微调整。

远程关闭或重启局域网中的计算机

平时经常碰到需要远程关闭和重启用一个局域网内的Windows XP系统的情况。今天查了下资料，其实很简单。

设在同一个局域网内，用户所在计算机为A，要远程关闭或重启的计算机为B。

首先保证A能够ping通B。同时还要保证知道A知道B的IP、管理员帐号和密码（如果不知道管理员帐号和密码，则另外需要在B的本地安全策略中加入guest账户进行远程关机或重启的权限）。

随后，在cmd下执行:


net use \\IP\ipc$ "密码" /user:"用户名"（没有引号）


获得B的管理员权限。最后再调用命令


shutdown -r -f -m \\IP -t 30


来对B进行重新启动（去掉-r参数则执行关闭）。


附：shutdown命令的格式为：


shutdown [-i -l -s -r -a] [-f] [-m [ComputerName]] [-t xx] [-c "message"] [-d [u][p]: xx: yy]


各参数的含义如下：

-i 显示图形界面的对话框。

-l 注销当前用户，这是默认设置。-m ComputerName优先。

-s 关闭计算机。

-r 关闭之后重新启动。

-a 中止关闭。除了-l和ComputerName外，系统将忽略其它参数。在超时期间，只可以使用-a。

-f 强制运行要关闭的应用程序。

-m [ComputerName] 指定要关闭的计算机。

-t xx 将用于系统关闭的定时器设置为 xx 秒。默认值是 20 秒。

-c "message" 指定将在“系统关闭”窗口中的“消息”区域显示的消息。最多可以使用127个字符, 引号中必须包含消息.

-d [u] [p]: xx: yy 列出系统关闭的原因代码。

让TeXShop支持自定义的文件扩展名

TeXShop是一款Mac下十分好用的LaTeX专用编辑器. 但是目前TeXShop支持的文件扩展名似乎只有.tex. 如果用它打开其他后缀名(如.latex等)的文件, 则TeXShop无法识别, 包括Typeset和语法高亮的功能都失去了效果. 如下图(以.latex为后缀的文件用TeXShop打开后的效果):

很多时候, 这给编辑工作带来很多不便, 特别是当源文件是从别的环境和系统中传来的时候, 经常会有文件后缀名不是.tex结尾的情况, 临时去改未免太过麻烦.

幸好, 我们可以通过一个终端命令一次性将我们想要支持的文件扩展名加入TeXShop的支持列表中, 从而一次性解决问题.

进入Terminal后, 键入以下命令后回车:

defaults write TeXShop OtherTeXExtensions -array-add "latex"

红色标出的部分是你想要让TeXShop支持的任何文件后缀名.

完成后, 退出TeXShop, 重新启动TeXShop, 再打开以.latex结尾的文件, 发现问题已经解决. 效果如下图所示:
